Show Up For Yourself

Every day we wake up should be a celebration and an invitation to create the best circumstances for us to thrive. Often we take care of so many other people and numerous responsibilities-work, children, relationships, our never-ending 'to do' list, our parents, friendships, and the list goes on and on.

But when do we take time in our every day to nurture ourselves?

How do you show up for yourself so that you feel validated, reassured, loved, rested, joyful, and at peace?

Are you waiting for that other person to swoop in and save you or notice you're in need?  The chance of that happening is like the chance that Idris Elba will ring my doorbell with flowers and a limo waiting to take me out on a romantic evening for two. (Side note: I had to take a break from writing because that fantasy was too yummy to just keep writing, but I'm back now).

We owe it to ourselves to quench our own thirst and create an abundant sense of expectation for what should be in our lives. I wake up now grateful first that I was given another day to get it right and live fully in my purpose.

I encourage you to spend at least 10 minutes but hopefully more, to brainstorm some of the things you enjoy doing for yourself. Do you like getting a massage or your nails done? Have a favorite book you love to revisit every year? Do you enjoy a good glass of wine on your porch on a beautiful day? Do you have a favorite show on Netflix you look forward to each week? When you think of the things that bring you joy...what comes to mind?

Start being intentional about choosing one.
