Stirred, Not Shaken

Eight years ago, I was at a very difficult point in my life. I was getting a divorce, I lost my job, and I had no place to call home. My children were young and I was deep into a depression. But what I recall about that season in my life was that I prayed for one thing...peace. I also knew in my heart that it was temporary. So I set some goals, made plans for how I was going move forward. And day by day, I took slow steady steps toward my goals. I built a life for me and my children that was designed by hard work, a belief in myself and God's grace. I am so grateful to read this post and know that while even when it didn't feel like I was making progress, every step and misstep I took led me here today. My beautiful children saw a mother on a mission to create a life for them. They witnessed my journey-the tears, late nights, the hustle, so that they could have what they needed. Now, they look back with appreciation and a knowing that they too, can overcome obstacles, that they can rise up from what seems insurmountable, that they can do anything they set their sights on. And they also know that I will come for anyone or anything that would do them harm. I'm so grateful for this reminder as I continue on this journey to grow, create and build a life for me and my family! #blessed #grace #joyrisingmovment #almost50 #stirrednotshaken #my3heartbeats #wonthedoit
